Belize
Adventure Week: If you're thinking
of visiting Belize and are an energetic outdoor enthusiast, then
this multi-sport vacation may be a dream come true. The adventure
begins with a series of inland trips along the foothills of the
Maya Mountains where we explore caves, run the class IV Macal
River gorge, or the Mopan River, visit Mayan ruins, mountain bike,
and float an underground river by the light of head lamps. The
second half of the week is spent sea kayaking at Glover's Atoll.
Discover the wonders of some of the 700 patch reefs inside the
lagoon, several nearby islands, and the amazing two thousand foot
vertical reef wall on the east side of the atoll. The diving and
fishing at Glover's is the best in Belize. Accommodations rage
from tents on the beach to screened cabins in the jungle. Meals
are a tasty variety of fresh seafood feasts complimented by tropical
fruits and vegetables served in the traditional Belizean and Mayan
styles.
